Japan Cuts is the Japan Society's annual "Festival of New Japanese Film." In previous years, the festival's visual identity emphasized the Japan Cuts name without clearly communicating what the event was. This year's new identity system was designed to build awareness of the festival by drawing inspiration from projection rays, capturing the experience of watching Japanese films in a dark theater during summer.
