Local businesses along Port Richmond Avenue in Staten Island NYC, often struggle to compete with nearby big-box retailers. To help increase foot traffic and create a stronger community, the creative idea for the corridor was to adopt a butterfly as its symbol. Representing migration, the butterfly celebrates the many immigrant communities that have shaped Port Richmond and its business district.
